Concussions - Symptoms of Brain Injury

Dial 911 immediately if you experience

  • Vomiting or dizziness
  • difficulty answers simple questions such as "What day is it?"
  • double vision or pupils different sizes
  • severe headache
  • blood or clear fluid from the nose or ears
  • difficulty walking or talking
  • seizures (convultions, eyes fluttering, body going stiff, staring into space, or sudden onset of fixed stare)
The signs of a brain injury (concussion) can be subtle. Some warning signs may appear immediately and others may not show up for days, weeks, or even months after the injuring.


Contact your physician or local emergency room if you notice any of these changes following your injury

  • change in sleep patterns
  • persistent headaches
  • change in personality, behavior or mood
  • change in job performance
  • confussion or difficulty concentrating
  • memory problems
