Hours of Operation
The Testing Center is open Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm and is closed from 12:00-1:00pm daily. The Testing Center will NOT administer a test without a scheduled appointment. Tests are to be scheduled online. Schedule test appointments well in advance as our rooms fill quickly and are on a first come-first serve basis. Testing begins at the scheduled appointment time.  Testing time will be reduced if you arrive late to your appointment. If you arrive more than 20 minutes past your appointment time, you will be required to reschedule and obtain retest permission from your instructor. All test materials are collected five minutes from closing time even if you have not completed your test. You will need to make arrangements with your professor if you wish to complete your test at another time.

Testing Time Allowed
Test time is specified by your professor and according to your documented accommodations. You will receive the specified time allowed for testing. You will NOT receive any additional testing time than specified under any circumstance even if you have not completed your exam. Requests for additional testing time will need to be made to your professor. If you have accommodations you may make a formal request for additional testing time which will be reviewed by the Director of Counseling & Testing. Only approved changes will be applied towards your next testing appointment.

Testing Materials
Students should only bring materials the instructor has approved for a given test. Calculators are permitted if approved by instructor. The Testing Center has a limited supply of calculators for student use.  Personal belongings are not permitted in the testing rooms. This includes but is not limited to cell phones, electronic devices, purses, backpacks, hats, heavy jackets, textbooks, dictionaries, notes, food, or drinks. Cell phones must be powered off and may not sound or vibrate during testing. Pockets must be emptied prior to entering the testing rooms. You are strongly encouraged to leave all personal belongings in your car or dorm room. Course homework/assignment may not be submitted to the Testing Center. These items need to be taken to your instructor’s office.

Breaks during Testing
Students may not leave the testing rooms for breaks, to drink water, or go to the restroom unless allowed by accommodations due to a documented disability. Restroom use must be done prior to testing. Breaks may be allowed with permission if the test is more than 3 hours long. If you leave for any reason including emergencies, your testing session is terminated and you will not be able to return to complete testing. You may reschedule to complete the test with written permission from your instructor.

Proctored Exams
Students using the UMHB’s Testing Center to proctor a correspondence exam are to follow the guidelines for testing at their Independent Study Institution and those of the UMHB Testing Center. Students are responsible for the following: requesting exams from their institution be sent to the Testing Center; contacting their instructor; and filling out any necessary forms required by their institution. The Testing Center will contact the student upon receipt of the exam if requested and contact information is provided.
